i always forget to post in here, remembered today though. got this just now (i know it's not exactly a Vantage or a Fortress, but it's a nice case & i'm happy)
well you gotta, dontcha i wanted a Speck Artsprojekt, but could only see them on the bay, so they'll be fakes, so got an iFrogz wish a kid was as easy to look after - a premium priced hard plastic case > job done
Remember the Vantage is working to profiles, it can actually cool lower than that but its managing the temps to a pre-set level, balancing noise/performance. Its theoretical max performance will be higher than the 212. (In our review we suggested that having a "max" profile would have been a nice addition, just for fun)
I blame the Accelero Xtreme getting in the way of proper cable management :uhoh: Horizontal mounting does provide better cooling and for very heavy GPU's there's less physical stress; a guy posted a pic in the Rig section where his 5870 bends do to the weight that wouldn't be an issue with this kind of mounting. Install of the MB and PSU were easy though I could see some people being worried having the PSU hanging like that. The downside is cable management. Not that wires are hard to hide, there's plenty of space on the back for them but it's hard for cables to reach the extra distance both inside and out of the case. Also, DVI>HDMI dongles are not possible due to the top cover. I've got to give a shout out to the HH review of this case, that played a factor in me going for it despite the risks
Here my new stuff. Blurays and PS3 games. Since winter is coming, here in Quebec, snow is about to drop . So, I purchased some stuff to stay inside hehe.
Man, The Thing (movie) and Demons' Souls are both EXCELLENT ideas for Winter nights. I hope to get my copies during this Winter too. Excellent!
Picked up a AX750 to replace the HX750. I wanted the AX850 but all they had at the store was 750's. I don't need the extra power just wanted the silent 3 stage fan. The difference is quite remarkable. There's just no sound coming from it at idle so I'm very pleased. My case is now as quiet as I want it to be. Something just wasn't right when the PSU fan is louder than my 5970! The AX750 is a lot smaller and lighter too. Fully modular also. Just for you I redid the cable management. Had to make go easy on 5970 PCI-E cables cause it's a tight squeeze. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
LOL, nice one, I feel honoured!!! I can be a bit anal about neatness . I even bought some cable wrap and wrapped all the fan wires in my case even though they're not visible!!! Its white though and my case has a black interior. May have to hunt down some black cable wrap... My wiring is about the same as yours tbh, similar problem with the PCIe cables as well. Not much more I can do with it. I'll post a pic later. Nice PSU btw. Wish my case was as quiet as yours though, I can hear my pc whirring away from the ground floor!
case i won over at MD arrived today the mobo i planned for it looks to be about a half cm too wide though...
congrats! It's a nice case, I have it for my i3 530 system. I wish all my cases are that compact so I can put them on a desk. My only complaint is that the LED is too powerful on the inwin logo so I taped it partially inside to tone it down.
yeah it is a nice case actually really well put together, nice finish, and real decent cooling potential need to figure out a new plan though, want to use it (got to try it out you know), but have to change plans slightly now.
well it's got these sort of gauze covers over the fans clicky which I'm sure will be fine. after all, it's not like i live in a huge 130 year old house that's absolutely chock full of lathe & plaster and bleeds dust like a BP rig in the gulf of mexico bleeds crude.... oh sh!t, that's right, i do... :bleh:
