I presume you settled on 7GHZ, then?
Also, what's that PCI card?
Haha, I knew someone would notice. It's a TV tuner. The bracket is missing because, with it, the card somehow interferes with the fan on the graphics card (there is a small gap between the tuner and the fan when the PC is powered down, but they somehow make contact when it's running). I was going to replace it with an external solution (and probably will at some point), but without the bracket it all runs fine and it doesn't even affect the GPU temperature, so it stays for the moment.
And no, no overclocking for now, though I might bump it to 3.2-3.4GHz just for the heck of it.
May it serve you well for a long, long time...
Damn, you are fast with these upgrades...
I was thinking more of some Athlon II X4 (125W TDP is too much for me), but I think I'm going to hold off for a while and buy an i5/P67 (eventually Z68) in future...
Thanks, Kizo, I hope that it will.
What's the stock multiplier on yours?
Feel free to bump that BE up a couple of notches, it won't mind. I normally run both of mine at 19X (3800mhz, they are 3200mhz units stock) and they are unlocked duals running all 4 cores now. Heat and stability is not an issue. The TX3 is nice......
The default multiplier is 15 on mine. I saw what you're doing with your TX3 (noticed it by pure chance, I don't know other people's systems by heart ), it was the decisive factor for me.
I don't intend to push my CPU that far, it's an old model (pre-AM3, which is the reason why it was cheap, it doesn't work on new boards so they were trying to get rid of it). Those series used to consume more power and OC worse than the current ones. Still, 3.4-ish (perhaps a pinch more) should be obtainable at stock voltage and I'd be quite happy with that.
Finally moved to Sandy Bridge.
The CM V6GT heatsink won't fit on the motherboard however The motherboard heatsinks are hitting the heatpipes.
What will you do with "ye olde" i7 system in your sig?
Something about yellow on black on mainboards (no graphics cards that I know) makes it very sexy to look at.
Sold it to pay for 2600K build cost.
And the two last parts of my order arrived today. Very fast. (and cheap)
are the numbers large enough Richy?
 my watches spend half their lives being clocks on my desk, so I like a nice big face (< which, incidentally, is also good news for Mrs niceguyrichy..)
Big numbers are BIG!
Mousemat finally arrived yesterday!
I've also recently got a pair of these for my TV.
