Okay, which one should I get? I know a lot of you have AMD versions, which one is better? Do you have any other suggestions?
Especially with you alreay dropping the voltage on it and its still running fine. You probably have a great chip on your hands.
craig588 as far as i know all 'c' series p4 are stepping d1 and are 1.550. i am not sure if they can even operate properly at that volt. if it is not a typo, then whatever is giving him the info is wrong.
I installed 2 94's saturday for 2 customers and got the chance to play around a bit. I OCed their 2.4c to 3.4gig and had the vcore @ 1.7v but it was like it wasnt even OCed. They stayed under 39c idle and maxed out at about 45c full load. I would have to say that if one hasd a cooler like this then the only upgrade from it would not be watercooling but something more extreme. (my opinion). I had them paired up with an Enermax 92cm (adjustable). Warning!! Make sure it fits your mobo (especially around the NB) before you get one. It fit with a hair of distance on a ABIT ic7 with the new NB cooler (the tall one)
If you seen a slk cooler before you would know that fans DO NOT screw on..in fact they are attached using the the cooler's wire clips. Im asking cause i saw the fan you orderd and if im not mistaken it has a plexiglass fanguard so make sure the wire clips can "grab" on to it correctlly or its gonna fall off. Also note that the "coolmod" isnt the best choice for a good cooling solution it just looks "cool" when in fact it does block some of the airflow. The best fan guard in my opinion is....NO fan guard for the cpu cooler.
It is not a typo, thanks very much.... I lowered my vcore to 1.45v in my bios and shows up at 1.35v in MBM. I have a GA-8KNXP w/ DPS2, which has brought a whole new level of vcore to my eyes. The "CoolMod" is just something I'm getting because it's cheap, I like to put it in places other than over a Fan.
satech2001 your temps are about the same as mine. i am about 1-2c lower (idle) 1-2 higher(stress). i use a mcx4000b w\evercool all aluminum 80mm fan. i got my 2.4c to 3.0 with the volt at 1.6. might want to check that out. could reduce temp/wear & tear on your cpu. these things are built & designed so well do not know if it matters that much.
