    Hello,

I am sorry if I am posting it in the wrong place.. please remove if so...

I have Solidworks software installed and I am seeing a very weird phenomena... when I left click in the graphic area, screen momentarily gets darker .

I might try to make a video of it as it is hard for me to explain.

I installed the latest drivers for Nvidia GeForce 1080 Ti.

Anybody can give me any idea on that?

    Thank you!

Your best bet is to check sites that reference Solidworks, or their site directly. That said, from what I see it's most likely an OpenGL problem, or graphics driver issue.

If I recall Solidworks loads using software OpenGL, so that would be one item I'd check off (under Tools/Options/Performance if I remember correctly). Be sure to close all open work in Solidworks, otherwise you won't be able to turn the option off. If it's grey out (but off) then it's off already.

If you are using Solidworks 2019 and higher, try enabling the pipeline option at the bottom of the performance section. I recall something about a hack to get Realview to work with consumer cards. However, I recall something about the tool not working with SW 2020, so I'd look into the registry settings option.

Of note, Solidworks is not really intended to be used with consumer graphics cards like the 1080Ti, but professional cards such as the Quadro. This is why I mention the drivers. It's been a long while since I've messed with Solidworks, so I'm not sure if things have changed (for instance the pipeline option was added in 2019 in conjunction with tweaks that both Nvidia and AMD had made to their drivers). Like I said though, your best bet are sites dedicated to SW.

    Hello Tipstaff . :)

I was sooooo lucky that you responded.
Other professionals would probably refer to drivers as not too many people are familiar with Solidworks.

Solidworks site, I am not very happy with their support stuff, but I might try if I do have more problems.
I can not remember now the SW independent forums for SW help.
It was great site and had some nice seasoned SW users ready to help.

OpenGL it was!!!! I checked it and boom! All bad stuff shown in video disappeared.
You saved my life Tipstaff. :D
I am now working using SW from home and have to use my 1080Ti instead of Quadro but after applying your fix, I have no problem at all.

Take a look at SS attached, what pipeline option you talk about?
    I have SW 2019.

Thank you for the reply again, it was so annoying as you can imagine watching the video....

That last option. I see that it's greyed out for you, so I'm not sure how to activate it... possibly requires a Quadro card.
