splitter plugin

    hi,

    i'm using the splitter plugin, please can someone tell me:

    - what gain has this utility ;
    - because is a widht option, if we can select a definite splitt frequency.

    Well.... :hmm:

    The freq. splitter has no (intended) gain. It simply works as a crossover build by a lowpass and a higpass filter which have the same cutoff frequency.

    The width parameter may be a bit confusing, as it really defines the 'sharpness' of the filter or - in other words - how big part of an octave does it take before the filter has cut the signal so much that it has been attenuated by 3dB. This is another way of defining the filter Q. (and works the opposite way number wise because lower is sharper).

    If this value is set to be too small (somewhere about below 1) the filter will start to resonate.

    I agree that the width parameter may be strange, I find it more musical than Q.

    well,

    it's possible to configure the splitter, adjusting the bandwith, to obtain a filter with 12db/oct, 24db/oct or more atenuation?
