I tend to sympathize with those who feel Steve Jobs is an 'OEM Bloodsucker'... But then my opinion of him was never very high. ;)

In fairness Steve Jobs shouldn't need to defend the working conditions as he is only a customer (I'm not aware of Apple having any ownership of Foxconn or its parent company). Its like there being a spate of suicides at the large supermarket you shop at and you having to defend the work conditions of the employees.

It's funny that you mention that, because that's exactly what one would be judged for; especially if the person of interest had knowledge that said employees were being abused but continued to make purchases there... especially when that person of interest is also fabulously rich at those individuals' expense, from the saved money.

I'm sure he flew to China immediately in his private jet, rode to the factory by escort, partied with CEOs who told him, "This is no sweat shop -- take a look at these employees."

I certainly wouldn't shop (or try to avoid shopping), knowingly, in a place where they committed atrocities... especially the likes of a sweat shop.

Too bad Apple charges an arm and a leg for an iPad, iPhone, and so on... but can't keep the labour in America. It's nice to see exactly where Apple's savings are going. Also, why would he come out and say that iPads are made in a sweat shop, just wondering? Or why not use a sweat shop, if a consumer isn't judged by where they shop? lol

Technically he is right, might like the Ipad isn't a big ipod touch but Foxconn's factory is worse than a sweatshop which is why people are killing themselves to get out of working.
