    ---------------

    ive done

    Defragging

Changed page file to disabling page file to pretty much every idea about page filing given to me on this
    and other forums

Downclocking the computer to overclocking it

    Downclocking the graphics card

    Changing drivers

    Checked for spyware

    Checked for trojans

Checked services , used tweaks disabled indexing.. system restore

    three seperate motherboards different brands

3 seperate graphics cards from the lowest radeon 9700 to this one

    Different brands of memory crucial/corsair

From onboard sound to Xfi sound

    Passed prime95 torture tests 5hrs+

    Passed memtest

Made sure the cpu had the correct voltages

bought a new case maybe it was eletrical static

    4 different brands of psu

    -

With page drive off the hard drive light will still flash now and then but with page file on
it sometimes loads far too much with the light flicking constantly sometimes temps
with the graphics card never go over 70C.

My hard drive is a Seagate barracuda ATA 100 11.4MS seektime just incase that makes
    any difference...
    Hard drive test

    GET AN NVIDIA CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have fought these damn ATI crap cards for over 5 years. I give up! The next one will be a card that works without the stuttering!

    IMHO

    Very helpful that was...

Okay now what you need to really do maybe is a full system format if you've never done that (though I doubt it)... You should also maybe test each componenet in another PC instead of buying tons.

Put ur vid card in a non stutter PC and test. No stutter? Safe part...

Keep on doing that but I doubt the problem is hardware (tis usually software related) but dunno... If you want try another brand of GPU but I doubt that'll change anything.

hmm hmm nvidia fanboys. most stuttering problems are not caused by either the cpu or memory. you should use memtest to check the memory for any errors and also revert back to stock speeds on the cpu if you want to keep your computer stable. i've had the 9700 pro 128 mb for 3 years now til i upgraded to the x800xl 256 mb, and it has worked like a charm. i dont think ATI would release a card that stutters...so it's probably something wrong with your system.

I guess some guys in here are getting paid from Nvidia to do their "advertising" in forums for "the way it means to be s*ck"

    ATI SUX
    NVIDIA ONLY VROXXX

What Nvidia promised you for these ??
    A Free Geforce 7900 GTX ??

Watching the video of The Movies, I got that type of stuttering. After checking everything, I found it was the fact I had Vsync on that caused it to stutter like that.

However if it only happens after playing a game for a while then I am not sure what is causing it.

    Yep its the hard drive

For the first 10mins i get the odd stutter when i run about then its totaly smooth no problems at all
then all of a sudden the hard drive goes into major blink light mode and the stuttering is really bad
jerk jerk jerk jerk. Then its gone nothing , no more for the rest of the game

yes i think too that slow hdd is causing it and ofc if you havent enough memory. I also got some stuttering in new games like q4 and fear but after about 1min playing it is gone and no more stuttering is shown up. So new hdd / more memory would solve this in my mind.

Did you check for Rootkits? I got one that sapped my system's strength and removing it made a world of difference

    how much for the 9700? phongtruong12, srry to be off topic i just wanted to know, anyways i hate when i get problems like that no matter what you do it never fixes! I had a sound problem once and i tried all sort of crap till i found out it was the motherboard making interfirence with my sound card. Hope you find a fix bro. vbmenu_register("postmenu_791299", true);

That's probably it. It could be one of two things: failing electronics on your HDD, or simply a loose cable, which is what happened to me awhile ago, so check that first. You should also be able to notice this in 2D mode as well.

It's not my ram i have done endless RAM tests, and even bought new RAM (Totalling 2GIG) now, but tried it seperately with 1 GIG. Same thing.

You named it man, I have already done it.

So far switcing to WIndows 64 bit has made a world of a difference. I'll keep you posted.
