I knew I recognized your name somewhere.
i am a cdfreak...lol...........almost live there...like you all do here
(and i am a lott at the DH-mohaa server)
OK, well i used VobSub for 2 movies now and both play back with subs in WinDVD and Media player 9 but not DivX 2.5.2. If anyone has any idea why that would be let me know...for now though i'm pretty happy that the other apps work. Thanks All.
a famous package for divx
That is really wierd. Saying as the subs should now be a permanent part of the movie. Maybe its something to do with the DivX player?
virtualdub makes the subs permanent'
Which is why its so strange that the DivX player doesn't display them.
Maybe leave some feedback at the Divx.com website and see what they say about the subtitiles not showing up.
do they show in other media players?
for example media player classic or windows media player
Well from what Veridian3 Was saying above, they play ok in WinDVD and windows media player. Really, really wierd this one.
Logola is correct. When i started the thread there were no subs at all...now i have them working (using vobsub) in MP9 and WinDVD but not divX. I'll check out the gordianknot site soon
if i am correct you need to download 3 packages;
1 gordianknot rippack it self
2 gordianknot codec pack
3 auto gordianknot (which makes it a kind of 1 click solution)
-try dvd2svcd (which does also dvd2avi; and avi is a container for divx and xvid). By the way xvid seems superior in many test. It is freeware and allows subs.
-if you have the new nero , you can try their new nero digital codec. IF you have the ultra package it allows dolby digital....and subs ofcourse. Qaulity seems extremely good
yeah i remembered the name of the tool i used to use
this one will make you happy i hope
Thanks for the links guys !
The easydivx decrypter aint too hot, the rest of the package aint bad though, nice interface. clean
seeing as we have all the experts here what do you guys recommend for making SVCD copies of a DVD. any recommendations? I already use some software but id like to see what titles and apps come up here.
there is only one for me. which gives the best image quality...and that is dvd2svcd with the cinema craft encoder (cce2.5). DVD2svcd is free, but cce is not
also nice results give davideo3 pro and moviejack. both not free
ill have to check out the cinema craft encoder........ is this part of a package? or is the encoder available for seperate purchase?
it is a very popular encoder, it can be used as a standalone encoder or as a plugin for other software. Dvd2svcd uses it as a standalone encoder.
If i am correct you can buy a pro version and a normal one. The pro allows to multiple passes which gives better quality. NOt sure about the price though.
ALso you can use canopus procoder with dvd2svcd. Very good also, but cce2.5 is faster.
Canopus there for is eassier to handle. IT has already the settings for svcd, dvd and so on
Separate names with a comma.
