We do our Thanksgiving holiday the last Thursday of November. This year is no different...except...we're doing "Covid-Style". That is...many of us are not driving to get with other family/friends to celebrate. Rather, this year, my older son, his wife, and myself, cooked our own dinner and had a nice quiet ... and relaxing ... day at the house. I did venture out early to grab some breakfast at the local Waffle House...where, surprisingly, there were only a few others that had done the same. I, also, left after dark just long enough to drive to the isolated and dark area where I grabbed a few shots of the Moon, the Moon and Mars, and Jupiter with Three of its Galilean Moons. Just posted those up on FB. I'm now ready to get back into Valhalla for a bit. More on that in the Gaming Discussion district.
Happy thanksgiving to our friends down south. (as you know here in Canada we do ours on a different date)
So... Basically it was like a Thursday. Similar to last Thursday... although I was probably working on another guitar last Thursday.
there are many families in canada that either partially or even fully celebrate the american thanks giving day, while also having celebrated or had the officially canadian thanks giving. Canada's thanks giving is the 2nd monday in the month of october (usually)... though there are often oodles of fowl suppers for thanks giving held throughout the month and in some places can spill over into november depending on how many are having it and how close. In the past, 3 towns separated only by 35 miles at the furthest as the crow flies here, each town would host a fowl supper and would often agree to specific days, usually a week apart. So the first monday lets say, would be one town, the 2nd monday would be at home with the family as per usual, then the 3rd would be at another town and then 4th at the last of the 3 towns. If there is a month that basically screams obesity, it's october trailing off into november. In either case, while my family doesn't necessarily celebrate the 2nd thanksgiving, it's not uncommon for many within canada to do it, and on occasion hear it referred to as such, even BEFORE the meme arouse with the lord of the rings reference to "2nd breakfest"
Pretty much the same for me... except I was working on the plane for simulator instead of guitar. ;-)
Thank you, I am such a dummy I did not even know that Canada had Thanksgiving..... I have learned something, never too late.
A belated happy Thanksgiving from me! I hope that everyone had a pleasant time and not just Tyrsonswood (I don't think may things make him happier than guitars ).
