Give your games ODDLES of CANDY crank that aa and af and you wont have that much of a bottle neck
no, i know that. but what i'm saying is that even an e6700 won't make a GTX perform the way it should. You need to clock it up to ~3Ghz or so before it begins to perform the way it should.
And if I recall correctly, you can do that by just upgrading your air cooled solution, no water cooling necessary on the slick new Intels. Just hope your BIOS allows it.
3.25 is easy on stock HSF and mild voltage increases.
just found a review on the 8800GTS/GTX pulled apart and compared
CdsDontBurn, I have a question here,I know and have downloaded the latest bios for the eVGA 680i mobo but could you tell me what the line should say when I boot my comp.,ie what is the wording when you boot up to let you know the bios was updated,I dont believe it is the 6.00PG right after AwardBios is it??
Oh I was able to OC the board last night up to 2.9mhz with my E6600
first time I've tryed it cant wait until tommorro when I get paid going to
get a new Zalman 9500 and try it out since I've run into a problem with my Resirator setup. Though I'm going to do a little modding on the mounting tray
after I remove the mobo first,me thinks a nice square hole cut into the plate so I can change HSFs with out haveing to "dissasemble everything is in order.
Got my GTX yesterday WOW is all i can say to comprehend the power of these things and the IQ... my jaw hit the floor when i tryed out dark messiah
at 16xaa 16x af max settings
this thread should be the " Im Loaded" thread, i dont havr 500-700$ for a video card
It should say the date of the BIOS, should be 11-22-06, and it should also say the BIOS version, p21 is the latest version, are the things you will be checking for. Those should be located on the bottom left and top right corners.
that is a great idea, but you may want to consider four smaller round holes instead of a square hole. . .because your next board may not have the cpu in the same location. . .
LOL Rasta,I hope I dont have to upgrade again for a few years,by then I'll probly need a whole new case,..lol
I got my Fucking 8800GTS! and I'm not Impressed! :annoyed:
Care to elaborate..?
and I HATE the gay ass control panel.
Have you tried out the performance in "real" games too, and are you as dissapointed with it there?
Well I am extremely impressed!
It was quite a change for me; from AMD to Intel and ATI to Nvidia.
In fact, this is the first time I've ever owned a box with an Intel CPU!
I've gone from approx 1200 to over 11000 in 3dmark06, and Oblivion simply has to be seen to be believed:drool:
And I havn't even begun to O'C!
I noticed you have O'ced your E6600 quite substantially. I'm hoping to follow suite.
I was wondering if there was somewhere you could point me to for a fairly straight-forward guide to overclocking, as I have never really given it a serious go before, and would like to get it right from the get-go.
It's official, I have a BFG Geforce 8800GTS, aww hell I gotta go change my pants again.
