Basically one of my all time favourite books, The Richest Man In Babylon, everyone should give this a read if they would like to manage their finances well. Here is a little video:

Edit: I was talking to a friend (I won't say who) and was surprised to learn that they had 0 savings. This is what made me remember this book. I think saving is very very important, as, when you retire what will you do especially if you're single and don't have a child or spouse to look after you?

Well, my plan is to off myself, but it would be better in general to have someone or something to fall back into.

    Seriously hope you're just joking.

It's amazing how easy it is to live on the majority of what you get each month while squirreling a little away. It doesn't have to be much provided you start from 20-30, preferably 20-25.

    Bump.

    Anyone get the book above?

Another great book is this one (I should mention these are not your typical wealth books in which some fool just rants and raves about what he or she doesn't even know what they are talking about, I personally have applied them in my life and they work, the 80/20 Rule for example I used to basically coast through high school :) ):
