It's the phattest thread i've seen, and it's a good call, i wonder what the correlation would be between Intel buyers and AOL users? hmm...

One word- Socket A. How many sockets did intel use to go from 500Mhz to the top end P4 ? How many did AMD use ? Do you have to upgrade every thing all at once with Intel ? Do you with AMD ?

Come come - are you telling me that the first socket A boards support that latest AMD CPU's?

I'm pretty sure that the clock multipliers wont go that high.....

Besides, Socket 437 has been around for a while.

Also, when I get a new CPU, other advances are normally made. Like faster IDE interfaces and memory. Upgrading those also requires a new motherboard. Would you really want an old CPU bogged down by keeping with old tech?

    It's a typo :p

  9. now, to be honest, the Radeon 9700 is the best card on the market, and Ati is coming out with a new Radeon 10,000. Now, if the Radoen 9700 is the greatest card on the market right now, and the 10K is coming out when Nvidia unveils their newest card... i think ATI is staying on top. The TI 4600 compares to the 9700, but not very well. Dont talk about stuff you dont know SHITE ABOUT DUMBA$$

if you didn't know, he said that before the 9700 came out. and at that time, no one knew that the nv30 would be delayed so much.

Damn, I wish I knew that......So that's great for me.HEHE...PC133 and still can run a XP2400+. Wham bam thank you ma'am.

Side note....I am looking for parts for a new computer currently...I was poking around at PriceWatch.com ..... P4 1.3ghz....110$ wow....I can buy an Athlon 2100 for that price....Why bother with the extra cost....What's the point of Intel's prices? Hmm.... I agree with the quality of the parts as well....Nonething special about them to have such a great price...Yes, I understand you have to pay for advertising....

And figure this... AMD doesn't advertise for crap...If any...I know years ago I used to see commercials for the AMD K6...But not anymore....No AMD commercials on tv....And isn't it quite odd that AMD is growing steadily and now being puchased much more perpetually? AMD is rising, Intel is falling.....Slowly but surely. And when I say that I do not mean Intel is gonna go bankrupt...I just mean that they are losing business, and it's about time...Props to AMD.

No, I mean that they are gaining a percentage of the sales of CPUs in general.
