    Could also be...

Someone has got to wring out the new boats. Nice turning radius, esp. if under full throttle...

    indeed

it strange that the canadian navy has 2 ....old... falling apart subs... while the West Edmonton mall has 3 FULLY opperational, completely realistic... NEW subs.... if someone were to attack canada as a whole.... we'd be screwed... if someone wanted to attack the west edmonton mall.... that's a different story, THEY would be screwed

Nice picture, and funny... I would enjoy slalom skiing behind that and "cracking the whip" on the outside of that turn for sure...

My father is a retired USCG pilot. He flew C-130's and H-52 helicopters doing search and rescue for the first 10 years of his career. As a kid, we lived in Florida (Homestead - 1964) and twice in Hawaii (Barber's Point - 1961 and again in 1970). He retired in 1979 after serving as CO of the world's largest Coast Guard airbase in Elizabeth City, NC. I'm very proud of my father for who he is and what he did to serve our nation, save lives, and the USCG for giving him the chance to give of himself for the good of so many people - in and out of the Guard. The USCG is our nations oldest military service - founded in 1790.

Saving and protecting the lives of people in the coastal and inland (Great Lakes, for example) waters of this nation, guarding this nation's shores, providing support to other units of the military (Navy in Antartica, and serving as pilots on Navy vessels in coastal service throughout the world, as examples), and keeping the polar sealanes open (they run the icebreakers in the Arctic and Antarctic) are just some of the US Coast Guard's missions - which they perform all day, every day, and with little fanfare or public praise, and on the tightest budget of any military service.

Again though, that's a great picture!

Did it on a battleship and it took 4 square nautical miles of ocean to peform that manuever, at 12 knots it would have taken less space but we wanted to see how fast we had to go with 2/3rds of our loaded tonnage to to complete a successful 360 degree turn, it is also called loitering on station if your just going slow...lol

    Coasties sure have fun.
