    PCMCIA - People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms
    ISDN - It Still Does Nothing
    APPLE - Arrogance Produces Profit-Losing Entity
    SCSI - System Can't See It
    DOS - Defective Operating System
    BASIC - Bill's Attempt to Seize Industry Control
    IBM - I Blame Microsoft
    DEC - Do Expect Cuts
    COBOL - Completely Obsolete Business Oriented Language
    AMIGA - A Merely Insignificant Game Addiction
    LISP - Let's Insert Some Parentheses
    MIPS - Meaningless Indication of Processor Speed
    GIRO - Garbage In Rubbish Out
    FORTRAN - Fortunately Our Readers Take Refreshers At Nightschool.

    And I remember IT tech's saying things like 'No-one ever got fired for buying IBM' how things have changed:duh:

    i just copy/pasted them, never checked if any of the translations are logically correct... ;)

    anyway, my favorite:

    SCSI - System Can't See It

    back in the days when CD burners had to be connected through a SCSI card... no hardware buffer in the burner so if you needed to be 100% sure that the burned CDs don't have any gaps or failed cycles, you would by a SCSI card... but to this day, i still have no idea what those cards were invented for in the first place... :D

    ISDN - It Still Does Nothing

    even now... it still does nothing... :D... a failed attempt to make a multimedia network system... ;)
