    So, that will be a good solution to prepare two or more versions of your new MX6, do not you think?
    - 6 stereo inputs
    - 3 stereo inputs
    - 6 mono inputs
    - 3 mono inputs

    Is it a lot of work like with 'user configurable plugins'?

    I've made a few changes to MX6 v1.14a;

    screenshot;
    http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kxplugins/mx6_114a.png

    Changes;
    -switch to get pre/post fader recording signal
    -auto reset peak value indicator when slider is 'touched'/moved
    -GUI make over

    I'll release a 3538 version in a few days.

    That could sound sad. Are go going to release a 3537 version too?
    Some people are still waiting for new UFX before update to 3538.

    :drool: Very good! These thinner VUs are LOT better! You should also use them for 6 channel VU plugin...

    Keep up the good work!

    Hmm,..yeah well this is how it looks when XP-theming is turned off( = Classic Windows),
    which I always do immediatly after xp installation.
    With Themes enabled, it looks crap.

    So I'm ending up having to skin the entire plug afterall (damn).

    depends on the amount of power you have;), I personally prefer to have both functionality and good looks, makes the music creation process much more pleasant and easier, much better than to stare at those greys all day.

    I hope lemury makes a nice skin...:)

    Thanks LeMury for the work, and I'll keep a look out for that .3538 version.:)

    Yeah, Tiger M, I agree with you. If you have the power, why not have great looks as well. I have to configure for best performance cause of my PC specs, but I wouldnt mind the visuals if my PC could handle 'em.

    Hiya admk :) Long time no see. You know I wont forget you providing the first (and competently written) Sonar kX guide I know about! And, you got me started with using the ProFx plugins. It's good to see youre still around.

    Hey Thomas, how come there's no link to the kX project on your home page? :(

    Just a thought.

    Same here, but not for power reasons.
    Personaly I don't think XP themes look good at all and prefer those "greys days".
    I guess that makes me a dinosaur.

    I still hope to avoid skinning. I'd rather spent my time programming then editing bitmaps.
    We'll see.

    I would say that functionailty is better than looks..granted. But I like having nice looking gui's on my plugs...thats just me...I understand that it takes time to do the gui's..but I imagine the days when All Kx effects are skinned..even the simple ones....so nice...

    Hm if it eats so many resources, why not make for example three version of this mixer. Lite, normal and full, for different needs?

    I agree. Or just keep the actual version (lots of my DSP configurations uses that.

    Hi LeMury, I just checked out the newest shots and the new design is seriously sweet. I am just building a set of VU skins for Mixy (the other new mixer out there) and wanted to ask how you managed to get those rounded corners on your VUs? It is exactly what I wanted to do.

    Is there a possibility of setting a mask/transparency color? Does it have to be present in the plugin code or is it hardcoded in the UI of kX somewhere?

    No special code. Those 3d like shadows are in the bitmaps.
    I just took parts from Eyagos's old compressor Vu bitmap and edited it.

    Anyway;
    I'm currently painting a new graphics collection which I'll probably will use for my all my plugins.
    (boy do i hate that painting).

    Hi LeMury! Thanks for the info although I think we may have missed each other somewhere :D I meant the rounded corners on the VUs which work seemlessly with the normal windows background. A bitmap is by definition square and to get it to have round edges there usually either has to be some transparency in the image itself or the program integrating the bitmap has to have a transparency color set which the program ignores.

    Your VUs have those rounded corners and yet still seem to fit flushly with the background. This can mean only one of four things:

    1: Your VU has rounded corners but you filled the parts which are flush with the background with the specific color used in your standard windows 3d components (the sandy brown color). This means if someone has a different background color the rounded corners wont be flush anymore.

    2: You know of some tranparency mask function in kX which takes out the corners.

    3: You use an image format which supports transparency or alpha masks (JPEGs don't).

    4: I am a total idiot and missed something :D

    Could you possibly provide the actual bitmap used for the VU?

    Well if you need some help give me a shout, as I have said elsewhere, I am not bad at photoshopping which makes up for my lack of programming skills. If I can take some work off your hands to free you up to do coding tasks I would be more than glad. Although I can't make any promises as far as aesthetic quality and my available time goes, I do have a dayjob which I try and do (at least most of the time :D )
