Interesting, Sony Vegas (pro or not) was always one of my favorite video editors. The first few versions did not have GPU support and by the time they brought it in, I had laptops which were accepted as proper GPU for the software. Fast forward today and (interesting, as I type this in the forum, I press the spacebar, but the parser doesn't move till I start typing the next letter) I installed version 16 for the first time on a PC with a dedicated GPU, my GTX 970. With the same settings , CPU only rendering for a specific video took 3 hours and 2 minutes. Using the Nvidia it took 38 minutes. Plus the preview panel had no issue running it at full res, full detail, where without using the GPU it would struggle at anything over "preview" quality. Impressed.
