Hardocp is reporting that Visiontek will Foreclosure its operation and will be closing its doors.
ouch, that sux, my video card was made by them :dead:
I thought they were a successful company and one of the most popular nvidia manufacturers :hmm:
Intresting, I thought they would have been fairly stable with the Nvidia line.. they were fairly prominant(sp)..
sounds like everything is fine according to this release, no??? :duh:
I had a VisionTek card (GF2 GTS), the GPU fan died within a month. Two of my friends had VisionTek's also (GF3's) thier fans died too.
It's a curse.
I think that video card manufacturers need to hire me to buy their competitor's cards.
I picked up a Voodoo 5 back in the day and 6 months later 3DFX was dead and gone.
I went out this May and picked up a Visiontek Geforce 4 ti4400... why? Because I didn't want to make the same mistake I did w/ the Voodoo 5. And Visiontek is (was?) the leader of the pack.
I'm going to just go out and buy some wacky card next time by some company that nobody's ever heard of and that isn't compatible with anything I own. At least that way I'll be sure to not have the company go under.
And if it is true and Visiontek is gone for good, at least it's not as bad as when 3DFX went under, as Nvidia is still around (for now at least).
That sucks very much. I have an Xtacy 4600 - but its not like we won't be able to find drivers for the cards 2 years from now. We just won't get any customer support.
Oh well, such a loss. Guess my next card will have to come from Gainward or LeadTech
Yeah, Leadtek is nice.
I just this past weekend gave up my 8500 for a Xtacy 4200
We ^still^ own!
All is not lost... VisionTek is still honoring rebates and tech support and after all...
nVidia is still better!
I dont know about that one (TV-out)
Has anbody found out if this is all true yet.
I ask because I saw something like this
2 months ago for dell, & they are still
in business now and are a top notch computer
company with profits. Even going to start
own printer devision.
I think Nvidia will keep them afloat for the time being.
Well, the Visiontek website is down, and has been for over a week. I am pretty sure Visiontek is dead now. :-/
why the hell did you dig up a 3 year old thread?
