Intel dual probably going Intel quad after few months.
Intel Q9550 @stock speeds. Very satisfied with it.
i7 920 in an EVGA X58 Classified (760), Q9650 in a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P, E8600 in another Gigabyte EP45 UD3P , E8400 in a Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 , E6850 in an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, E6600 in another P5W DH Deluxe, P4 3.4 Northwood in an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe etc.etc.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 Yorkfeild @ 2.66GHZ
E6850, E7300, E2180, Celeron 430
Still no Quad yet. I wanted to switch to P55 and a i5 but the burned sockets scared me off
Intel C2D's run fine though. Easy overclocking and still good performance.
4800+ x2 s939. its still plenty fast for most things, but its the rest of the system thats killing me.
Q8200 + Core i7 920. Will be grabbing a Core i5 750 iMac as soon as they are available.
I was almost surprised to realise that the last three years has netted me three dual core systems, one AMD and two Intel. A quad for my main S775 mobo would be nice, but I'm still not feeling that they're worth the cost to me. Had it been based on AM2+/AM3 then it would have been easier.
woot Quad Core!
Q9550 at 3.57Ghz right now
what should I vote?
officially my CPU is a Phenom2 x2 550 but I have unlocked it 4 cores
yea id vote Quad since thats technically what you have
okay, kris, you got it - done that!
S939 AMD Athlon X2 3800+, I don't use my PC for gaming so this cpu is more than good enough for what I use it for.
Desktop: Two Intel Quadcores (E5462)
Laptop: Dual core Intel
Intel Q9450 @ stock speeds....any overclocking I try fails for some reason NO idea why... WTF
Phenom II 710. I'm sorry I didn't get the 720, but I had a hard time getting the configuration I wanted. Most people are buying Intel here in Israel, and it's not a huge market, so the AMD CPU and MB imports are limited.
AMD dual core. (plus a venerable Athlon64 3000+ in the second PC which still chews through everyday stuff with ease)
I've only had this PC for a short while so I still haven't really seen what it's capable of, when I find it's limits I might upgrade as the prices and performance make lower end quads really tempting (especially since I love tech), but for the moment this really satisfies my needs.
someone pmed me to ask which CPU I had. I think I could check every one of them in the list to be honest - perks of the job, right?
My favourites? 920 Core i7 and the phenom 965BE. love those CPU's. 920 I7 is such a blast to overclock and the 965BE (or 955BE) are really solid performers at bargain prices.
I'm still running an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500, Never had a problem with it... Ever
