This place is quite large. They host live bands, Bingo and Trivia Nights...during normal times...and have dozens of large flat screen TVs mounted around the place...showing mostly sports programming. Last evening I got the Quesadilla Explosion Salad...shown. It comes with Quesadilla Cheese Wedges...which I've already eaten at the time of this photo.
Was finally able to do a dine in breakfast at the local IHOP. Fajita Chicken Omelette, Hashbrowns with Cheddar Cheese and Onions and Coffee. After the photo was taken, I got the Salsa and Sour Cream to put on the Omelette.
Last evening's Cobb Salad...before adding the Ranch Dressing. Did I tell you I like a little salad with my Ranch Dressing?
Years ago, it was Red French, Catalina, or Russian dressing...always. Until, one day, they only had Ranch.
Isn't anyone else eating these days? Anyway, this was from brunch Saturday, early afternoon. The local bar and grille has started providing brunch again on the weekends. They are opening only under very limited conditions due to COVID-19. This is the Western Omelette, with extra Pico and Salsa. Button/Breakfast potatoes, too.
Another evening, another meal.... The Summer Salad at Guston's Bar and Grille....with plenty of Ranch Dressing.
At Guston's Bar & Grille this evening. The Pot Roast Dinner. Includes Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and Gravy.
I don't have a habit of snapping photos of my food, but this was a bit special. I would have posted it earlier, but I'm afraid I might get banned for this. And no, I did not eat a bat! It's horse rump steak in some pastry lined with mozzarella and pesto and the sauce... I have no idea what it had, but it was delicious. Colours are a little off, but it was a feast for the eyes as much as for the stomach and nose!
Chicken Casserole... With Veg... The only disappointment is i did not make enough Chicken Gravy this time around...
Brother, do not fret, most of the meals I had growing up were either beef, or chicken, rarely we had goat, and even more rarely other types of meat like rabbit, horse or mutton. And I enjoyed all of it, the above picture looks soooooo delish!
Chicken is the meat I eat very, very often. Occasionally, fish, and, even less often, beef. I do like a good turkey sandwich now and then. Beginning about a year ago, my son, d-i-l and myself have frequented a local BBQ place. I get the pulled pork platter most often.
One thing I do miss from living in Botswana, Southern Africa was the game meat you could get, either to cook at home or you could order it in a restaurant. Gemsbok meat, springbok meat, crocodile and alligator meat, ostrich meat, among other game meat. It was always a real treat to have whenever you had it. I especially loved ostrich eggs.
I am not,, i am usually a red meat eater.... Steak (is my favourite) even if i go out on a family get together every so often and when i look at the menu.... They all know what i will pick.. 9 times out of 10 they are correct... Just find it a little odd that chickin has taken over for the last week... or so... For today a Home Made Chinese style curry... With Chicken and a different sauce this time around.
