I was reading through the discussions earlier about road tax, For all the UK'ers how much are you paying for a year's road tax?
Quite curious to see how many newer cars you're picking up are lower brackets The aygo only farts out the odd bit of CO2 so it's zero road tax which considering my insurance quote of £1200 for the year is a bit of a godsend
2012 Ford Focus.
I drive a 1.8 2003 Vauxhall Vectra... the Full years road tax for me is £250.
Hyundai i30 1.6CRDi
its got a lot of tricks fitted, so pay nothing in road tax
£125 per year for my 1998 Seat Arosa MPI. It has no tricks fitted of any kind. Not even a working radio-cassette
Christ couldn't cope with that :wtf:
CD head units are stupid cheap, wiring is a piece of piss, why you not got ?
I'm just not interested in having a stereo in my car.
If I want to listen to music, I'll use my phone and headphones. But generally I just tend to not fancy listening to music while driving. Which is strange, because I have it on in the background all the time at home.
I'd go nuts if I didn't have a sound system in my car, especially the times I drive those 10 hours to get up north to my family. Having headphones on for that long would be very uncomfortable towards the end.
Back in 2002 I had an old wreck of an Opel Kadett Caravan for a while, without any kind of radio or sound system, and I was gonna go for a 6 hour drive once. I went to buy a a cheap portable CD-player just to have something to keep me company. Back then there were at best phones with FM radio but no RDS so it would have been a pain to keep searching for stations along the way.
Well it's been a busy day today, And I have decided to trade in my Vauxhall Vectra I bought only six months ago. It's turned out to be on of those problematic cars and need to get shut of it before it becomes to serious...
Already cost me £500 for a new Clutch and £100 for a new coil to be replaced. And is developing a cpu problem...
So I have this awaiting for collection on wed of next week.
A 1.8 Nissan Primera SX. 17" wheels Inbuilt Sat Navigation and rear parking camera which is rather quirky...
EDIT: This is the Dashboard that will certainly take little time to get used to... Never driven a car that has the speedometer in the center of the dashboard.
