Read the topic What firewall do you guys use? I am using ZoneAlarm non-pro right now, but thinking of making the switch to either Sygate Pro or Zonealarm Pro How bout you guys? What do you recommend?
Norton's internet security 2003. did upgrade to 2k4 but the thing periodically cut of all access to the net, regardless to how many times i corrected it manually.gave up using it.
Eh, I hate anything by Norton.... and so should you! They suck and use up way too much RAM with anything!
Kerio 2.15 here too. It's free for home use and it doesn't do anything that a firewall should not do like some others. It demands very little of the system and has a straightforward layout for the rules. Some basic knowledge about IP's and ports may be required for effective operation, but nothing more difficult than any user who wants to learn can manage. The simplicity of the engine also makes it unlikely that any major security flaw will pop up to breake it. I'd expect it to hold up until we either move over to IPv6 years from now or if it would not work with some future Windows version.
You can get anything for free on the internet  *oh no now I get warned by a mod for breaking the rules* rofl illegal 4 life
PC-cillin 2002 along with its virus scanner. I'ved tried alot of firewalls/virus scanners, this is the best one ive used so far i think. the 2004 or 2005 is probably alot better.
Router firewall + Astaro on the linux rig I route my dial-up through. The joys of sharing 56k internet...
zonealarm pro and mcafee security 5.work well.mcafee more of a pain as l have both dialup and satilite for internet
Sygate Personnal Firewall. Works well enough, not too popular and as a consequence, usually forgotten by Trojan/Virus writters as they target ZA, Norton's and the McAffe mostly. Also have NAT on my Router for added layer on inbound connections.
