wow... i'm suprised that sombody hasn't said anything about those stupid lenses that you can get off of ebay to " make your tv or computer monitor into a projection tv!!!" i dunno.... i want a 19 for the cave here but the 17 is what i'd lug around to the LAN partys tableleg
I love my 19" ViewSonic P95f+B. But there is a down side.....Lower resolutions are jaggie hell. I have to game at a min resolutions of 1152x864 now(Not a bad thing mind you ). Not so much because I want to but because I can stand the jaggies at lower resolutions imo unless you have the system power to push a min resolution of 1152x864 then a 19" is just annoying unless you mostly do Graphics work, watch allot Divx/DVD's or can stand what 1024x768 and 800x600 look like on a 19" monitor Powerfull system = 19" mid range system = 17" imho Also how can you some of you people stand the warped 1280x1024 image? CRTs are in the 4.3 aspect Ratio.......1280x1024 is a 5.3 aspect ratio meaning you squish the image or live with black bars. Unless you have a LCD on the other hand in wich case that is there native resolution some times and are in the proper 5.3 aspect ratio for it. Other wise I find 1280x960 to be a much nicer fit
21" is better but I only have a 19 incher now , my HP 21" Trinitron bit the big one about 5 months ago. I am saving up my pennies to get a good LCD to work with my WalMart special KDS 19! .
two, both 19" flat screens, one is a view sonic a90f+ similar to "trunks0" mentioned above. resolution is set at 1280x1024 on the view sonic (i thought that 's how the world really looked, if not at least it fits my skewed conservative view of things)....as long as there is a corresponding increase in quality, i say bigger is better :duh: row:duh:
The bigger the screen, the better. We have 2-19" on me and my bro's bedroom PC's(one on each PC ), 1-21" on the downstairs main PC and one old 17" for setting up new PC's.
I use a 21" Sony Trinitron Flat CRT.... I have had a 17 and a 19" flat CRT as well and this 21" Sony is by far the best monitor I have played on. 1152x864x32 @ 100Hz looks amazing. I have a large desk and the monitor sits about 3 feet away, but I think it might be a little overkill on a smaller desk where you can't sit further away comfortably. I would DEFINITELY recommend a flat screen CRT over a standard one. The difference is definitely noticeable!:w00t:
DfsDirect.ca This is a canadian site with canadian prices....and ultra Cheap refurbed trinitrons they don't always have everything in, but you can get a 17" trinitron for $129.00 Canadian (about $90 american) and 21 trinitrons as low as $299.00 ($200 american) Note - The ones listed only as "SVGA" are not trinitrons - but the rest are Oh and my personal prefference for Gaming monitor is my 20" Trinitron
I voted earlier on the 19" monitor size. I have 2 19" monitors for my own two computers, my son has an identical one for his PC, and my daughter-in-law is using a 17". Here in the Atlanta, GA, USA area, we're blessed to have very competitive pricing for most consumer products. I got my Hitachi SuperScan Elite 751 refurbished for $125 last August. It's performed very well for me and I have no problems with the refresh rates like so many others have reported. I really couldn't be happier unless I could get a flatscreen.
