I'm using Wi-Fi adapter for my PC and connect to fiber line.. Fiber connection is speed and strong. But, my adapter keep disconnecting. Most of times, it only works for 2 hours continuously.. The adapter get extremely hot and disconnect. Does anybody know why adapter behaves like this?

Could be time to replace your adapter.

Btw, how do you know it is over heating? Is this in a laptop?

    better to physically connect anyways.

even with some of the highest end pci-ex or usb wireless adapters, it'll always be inferior and unpredictable and prone to interference making it less suitable, specially if you mainline connection is fiber.

the faster you try to go, the more unstable it'll get.

What model is the adapter? Brand and Model?

But, as Judas said above, connecting by cable is much more dependable that using WiFi.

Yeah, whenever I used my laptops over the years I would always connect via cable, the only laptop I don't do so with is my current one since it supports 5G WiFi and we basically got a newer router that puts out both normal WiFi and 5G WiFi and basically the 5G WiFi is just as fast as plugging it in, I kid you not, so yeah just use it wireless all the time.

    Edit: I meant 5Ghz WiFi. :p

You mean 5Ghz wifi.... as in the high band?

5G is limited to mobile services, highly doubt you invested in a mobile cellular network adapter with sim card and a monthly data plan

Thank you sharing knowledge.. Actually, I wasn't aware of such an technical fact previously.. You prediction might be true..Because, the adapter worked fine before switching to fiber connection. Previously I was using non-fiber internet connection..Thanks for helping to figure out the problem
