Running the RC version here. As I said in a topic I just started, it has been activated on my pc, so for as long I can I will run this version.. after that I think I will have to buy a copy, as there is no going back for me!
Im so pleased i switced to Win 7.. Everything i use on a daily basis runs a little quicker than Vista.Even the in built Defrag Woks this time round. Under Vista 249Gb of files i always had to leave running overnight (8 hours Plus) and never seemed like it was going to end.. Under Win 7 with more or less the same amount to defrag was done yesterday within an hour..
Like most windows operating systems, I probably won’t be giving it real a serious look till after the 1st major service pack. On another note I was however looking to skip vista and looks like I get my wish. Probably won’t be upgrading till 2010
I'm totally pleased with Windows 7. In fact, 3 days after my copy arrived for the Launch Party, I built a whole new rig completely around Windows 7 and with it in mind. A pair of Dx11 vid cards, SSD's with a working non-destructive TRIM utility, and a new HT enabled CPU for SMT parking. While most of the features arn't Windows 7 unique, they are all under the same roof with Win7 and mostly transparent to me, the end user of it. In every way, Windows 7 has been an impressive launch and is the best version of Windows yet.
I really don't know what they could do in 7 SP1 that would significantly change the OS environment. New features, maybe, but 7 is so solid I really don't think someone's opinion would change from an SP1. It won't be like the major stability upgrade Vista got from SP1. I'm careful with my OS's, dual-booting XP and Vista, but now it's just 7, and I haven't looked back since....
