Why do I need this graphics card? Well speaking for stay at home dads evrywhere. We are told that we don't have time for games anymore, and therefore don't need to spend any extra on a new card. Whilst I see the validity of this argument I have to answer with the time honored answer...
"Well how am I supposed to save the world in the small time allotted to me with sub-standard graphics?"
I say that I should have the best tools available to me! Who else shall hold back the invading minnions of evil while rocking the wee one to sleep? Who else prey tell, shall stop the villains from robbing that bank while waiting for the formula to warm?

Well at the moment it is that other guy.

BUT, if it was me. Never fear world! For nap time shall be safe once again! And the small tikes shall be able to look apon driverheaven and I can say "Yes this is where the magic started" Followed quickly by "No mum doesn't need to know about this"

    Thanks!

I deserve to win this contest because I owe $400,000.00 on a house that is now only worth about $250,000.00. I have $40,000.00 in credit card debt. My wife is recovering from breast cancer and I lost my job 3 weeks ago. Oh yeah, I have to sell my motorcycle because I can't afford to keep it anymore (2005 CBR1000RR Repsol with arrow full exhaust and a few other nice goodies 9,500 miles $6,500.00 just send me a PM for more details). So I think I deserve to have something good happen to me.

I try my best to keep up with the young guns in online shooters, (my favorite). It's hard to do especially when your video card has seen better days. The old reflexes are good but not as good as they were. A better video card would certainly help this gamer. I'm 62 years old and never dreamed when I was a pup, (like most of you are now), that this type of gaming would be possible. Luckily it is and I wasn't about to miss out on it just because I'm old. At my age, jobs are not that plentiful, especially those that pay worth a crap. I am eligible to draw Social Security but I choose to work instead. Not much left over to buy a decent video card. No matter, I'll keep playing and trying to improve. I've set a limit that when I hit 70 I have to give up the hard core shooters and start looking for girly man types of games that have fairies and cast spells. :( But for now, that new 4870x2 would knock about 20 years off this old fart. :D

    Good luck to all!

I really want this card but I can't afford it as family comes first.
In this modern and much difficult world it is a daunting task for me to afford this card with my small pays...

So please sponsor me with this card...

Reflective water, setting sun, mist rising from the gun. Worlds envisioned in the mind, thought to remain unseen… need enough hardware to render on the screen.

when i showed my system to a pc consultant or doctor we may call..he told me that my monitor would soon die and i had to replace it! Later in the night i heard my monitor crying and begging to have a look at the whole world before dying! So if DH gives me this beauty,i will render the whole world in Flight simulator X in max settings which is not possible in my integrated chip so that my monitor rests in peace!!

I live close to an orphange.
And as you for sure you can imagine, winter in where I live is very, very damn cold. And as you can imagine as well, the house in where the little poor souls vegetate through darkness in a perished way of existing with no purpose, is in a bad condition. The windows are broken, the walls are thin and and the only heat comes from a cesspit that runs through the basement.
You and I together could save at least 100 children from dying a lonley, cold and sorrowful dead with the enormous heat of this 4870X2.

This past spring, I invested $600 on an Nvidia Geforce 9800GX2 because it seemed to me at the time that ATI's offerings did not measure up. To this day, I rue the hasty decision to turn my back on ATI/AMD. Only a short time after, I learned of the ATI 4870X2 and things have never been the same.

With the release of the 4870X2, I have suffered such shame and buyer's remorse that I can no longer show my face in the local computer store and have been reduced to entering online competitions using pseudonyms. I am so diminished I have begun wandering the computer aisle at WalMart in the hopes of finding redemption.

Were that not enough humiliation and punishment, I find myself impotent and am left too poor from my foray into Nvidia-land to be able to afford Cialis. The looks of disgust from my wife as she is left to seek out another to satisfy her not-insubstantial needs has become simply too much to bear. My children mock me - referring to me under their breath as "noodle nuts" - as they walk out the door to go on outings with Mommy and her new friend, "Uncle Demetrius".

I have become ineffective in my work. My patients have begun offering me counsel, only to conclude that I am beyond help. Colleagues who I have sought out for assistance have offered to put me on a waiting list to see them sometime in 2011.

My dog, Sam, no longer sleeps at my feet, preferring now the cold embrace of our Siamese cat, Frodo.

Please have pity on someone who, like every person who has posted in this thread, has at one time faced the crushing regret and humiliation of purchasing expensive computer hardware only to discover soon after that "something better came out".

For just this once, in the interest of giving hope to everyone who has ever faced this sad eventuality, correct the injustice by granting me this offering. For heaven's sake, think of the children! Give them the chance to learn that their regret at making impulsive decisions can be expunged by the simple act of sounding pathetic and relying on the charity of others.

Thank you for your time and pity, not to mention this chance to redeem myself.

Well these are very strong reasons for me to get this card and it is related to games::lol:

    1. GTA: In GTA San Andreas CJ was constrained to encumbrance all groove street gang members houses to afford his T-shirt cost and it ended that they all now kept in prison and I cant play the game So I want to evade this problem in GTA liberty city . I want to have a look at NICO T-shirt size so I can buy T-shirts from my region with low price for him.:(

Also in GTA SA there is a magazine in the 24/7 shops that I would like to get in my town , The problem is that I can't see the issue date well.

    2. FARCRY : While I was wandering in the jungle taking out soldiers I hear the annoying snorting sound of the sniper hanging at the top of the watching tower:mad: (100 meters away) the problem I can't see his "nose openings" from such distance with my card so I want one that enables me to hit him with the sniper in his nose so I can relax. This is serious believe me.

3.PES : In My favorite team there was a player that running too slowly I just want to make sure he has tied his shoelace correctly.:hmm:

    Hey guys.

I just wasted five hours of my time trying to get rid of a virus off of my computer. Nothing bad has really happened to the pc, and I didn't use paypal or anything so no information lost, but I broke my hard drive.

I was taking it out to be wiped at my uncles house where he would format it. But as I was taking it down stairs I tripped on my dogs ball and it flew out my hands. Strangely I thought it was going slow motion and that the Max Payne theme tune was playing.

It hit the ground pretty hard and it made some weird scratchy noises as I picked it up and it sounded like everything inside was cracked. I tried it to be sure and it didn't boot up to windows. Luckily I had an old, but working, 120GB HDD. I put all my backed up stuff onto it (well, most of it anyways). I did lose all my installed games and other stuff, and definently all my essays that I had taken ages to write, but I think it's ok. I'll need to tell my teachers that my hard drive went crazy and they might let me off.

    I doubt it, though.

    -----

My Gran is still in hospital but is getting better. People in the family are still worried.

    -----

I want this graphics card to do some gaming, to forget some of the crappiness that has plagued me for the last month (and probably will continue to) and to give my old graphics card to my Dad once he gets a new PC. (The graphics card I have is a 6800GS).

I need this card so badly. Im currently in Year 10 and looking to do Visual Effects and 3d modelling in 3dsmax. Right now im running this sad little Pentium 4 2.6ghz with 512mb ram. To make things worse, my video card is one commonly found in outdated notebooks and has no pixel shaders (its half as good as an Intel Gma 900 which i so badly wish i had). In fact in Quake 3 Arena i get random frame skipping and lag.

The only thing that has stopped my family (which is rather poor) from buying me a pc for my studies and visual work is the expensiveness of the video card which is over half a thousand dollars.

I guess i can do the work on the schools computers, but everyone else will be catching up at home and i feel i will be left behind. Please DriverHeaven, i really need this. I really do.

(This is actually true, but i think you were looking for dramatic responses, so sorry if it doesnt fit in i guess...)

I live in the worlds most expensive country with the highest taxes, we are talking over 50% tax on income and 25% VAT. Plus gasoline prices here in Denmark are more then twice the double of the prices in the states, yeah more then double and let's not forget that prices on our cars are 2-4 higher then many other modern countries.

Now high prices on such things, off course means that prices on computer hardware are crazy high, eg. over 700$ + shipping for a 4700 X2 card and that's even from some lousy webshop.

Now how is a poor chap like me ever going to be able to afford such a lovely card with those prices! I allready work like 60-70 hours a week at the moment, it's getting real hard to even have time for a few hours of gaming in the weekends :(
