Re: Win one of three ATI 5750's @ Driverheaven! 1. Gareth Thomas has never worked for Codemasters. He is an imaginary persona, and an actor was hired in order to film the review with DriverHeaven. 2. (The so called) Gareth said that although DX9 and DX11 are both good API's, he has a strong fondness towards DX3, which was the most innovative of the DirectX versions. 3. Yes. AMD supplied a desk and two chairs. DX11 development was done on a Fermi proptotype, though (much as it was hard to develop a game on a block of wood). 4. Not AMD in its entirety, no, because it has too many people to fit in the Codemasters office, but they did send the cleaning lady once. 5. Yes, definitely. Loading was so fast it ended before the game was launched by the user. Since this complicated debugging, the game ended up shipping with DX9 loading being used even when rendering with DX11. Just wanted to say: cool contest, DriverHeaven is the best, and I don't need another 5750. Edit: Okay, "I don't need another 5750" was a rather stupid comment. I mean, I have a 5750, and I have a crossfire board, and I say I don't need another 5750? What was I thinking? That said, I should get a 5850 soon, so I guess I don't need that 5750 after all. Edit 2: Just saw the xbitlabs review of 5750CF and 5770CF, and 5750 CF is actually closer to 5870 in many cases than to a 5850, making it a pretty good value for money solution (now that the 5850 is over $300, the 5870 at $400).
