Personally, I'd never miss the Windows Media Center, anyway. Although we have it set to run over the home network, I never use it.

Never used Media Centre but when I saw this I thought you meant they were taking Media Player out

Which I wouldn't put past them, an attempt to force people to use XBOX Music, which is basically adware.

I prefer to use iTunes instead of Media Player. Before that I was a big fan of Winamp.

Yeah if they do remove Media Player I will be in the market for a decent MP3 player. Never needed anything other than Media Player since the advent of mp3s. I won't be using XBOX Music though, the very fact that it's called XBOX Music is enough to dissuade me.

media center gone...... i give a thumbs up to that... i've never seen it work properly or be remotely useful. specially with all the other free much more superior versions of much of the same software out there if people really need/want it.

I've been using it with my TV card. It came out during the Windows XP era and ASUS never bothered to provide support for later OSes. The bundled Cyberlink's application doesn't work and it was also really bad to begin with, so I'm relying on WMC and, while far from perfect, it works okay and is a lot more functional than the bundled application ever was.

I won't miss it at all, not WMP either. Never use it, I hardly ever did in the beginning either. I use VLC for just about everything but Blu-Ray, for that I use Cyberlink PowerDVD. VLC can play normal Blu-Ray but not 3D ones yet, if it could I'd been using it for those as well. A music player doesn't need to look pretty, I'm not sitting here looking at it while I play anyway and VLC does all I need and more.

VLC is highly underrated. I use it for all my video playback except blu ray discs as well. For that I have a blu ray player in the living room.

Info on how Windows Update will work is coming out and a lot of people don't like it:

Windows 10 Home users will be put on Current Branch, which means mandatory updates as soon as they are available. Windows 10 Professional users will be able to choose Current Branch for Business, which will give them some control over what updates are installed, but will essentially only be able to delay updates (and thus give MS time to pull bad ones), rather than skip specific updates altogether. Similar goes for Long Term Servicing Branch, which will be available to large companies/Windows 10 Enterprise users, but they will also have the option to skip updates that aren't security related (actually, not all sources mention this last possibility, but it makes sense).

Yes, I just got mine a few moments ago.

I believe I read that Windows 10 Upgrade will correlate to the level of Windows one has installed. Such as, if one had a Home version, W-10 will install a corresponding version. And, if one had a Pro version, the W-10 upgrade will also be a Pro version.

    Is this correct?

Well, good luck guys who install this. Make sure to find as many bugs and security holes as possible, I might upgrade next year if it is worth it and it isn't a big brother installation.
