Hey, I have a fresh install of windows 2000+sp4. I lost about 100 points compared to my windows 98 bench. I wanna get those back ;) Any good tweaks?

anything under 500 points is well within the margin of error. I can fluctuate over 1000 points just by rebooting.

Yes but that's you. And why arn't you on msn?! And even if it is a margin of error I should be able to boost performance with tweaks. Anyone else for tweaks?

EDIT:Where is that safe plug/unplug control box thing? I disabled it and I can't seem to find it. Should I use it for plugging in game controllers and such?

Control Panel - administrative tools - services: stop and disable everything you never need, like UPS (if you dont have one), smartcard reader (if you dont have one) etc. That should give back the 100 pts...
