wrong forum dude lol someone move this thread
I've been waiting for RC2, Not even been able to install RC1, first I got the atapi.sys error because I use Virtual Drive programs, then when I sorted that out it takes an hour to inspect which I painfully sat through, then 3 hours later it was still backing up files, I've tried 4 times now and prolly wasted 24+ hours of having my machine chuggin while it tries to sort it out, So i hope to god this installs properly.
EDIT: Moved. I've seen a few threads end up in kX by mistake, not sure why people post them there, lol
Thank god this one works, I've been tearing my hair out.
Only thing I notice different is the Security Center and this new icon for my wireless connection. I'll go poke around abit.
Oh and the Ram has been moved onto the same line as the Processor speed in My Computer - Odd
You should of said something I could of helped... I been running the beta's as they came out 2126,2138,2142...I wonder how much is different from the 2142 beta
Install was no problem.. windows looks somewhat snappier, haven't jet seen much diff. from sp2-rc1
OS Version 5.1.2600 (WinXP Retail)
OS Service Pack Service Pack 2, v.2149
Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2149
Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2149
DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DX9.c)
so have i… and all the ones i remember are by widkidone… strange
So...any benefits to installing this? [sarcasm]Besides the added brute force of Microsoft's new cutting edge anti-virus additions? [/sarcasm]
Seriously, is this the final build for SP2? (Know I'll need it sooner or later.)
Well You'll get the newest securityholes and an all new set of bug's euh.. flaw's I mean
but yah I think it is worth to install it, RC2 is usually the latest before the off. SP
using it, no problems yet...and I didnt notice anything new from the other betas..
Installed and running for 3-4 hours now, and after several reboots. A couple of annoyances, a few
new "features"...and DX is now 9.0 C...man....9.0C!!!!!
Life is wonderfulllll. :hmm:
what a piece of sh*t this is. Installed it no probs.
Rebooted and found I cant connect to the internet. removed it and still cant connect to the internet.
Everytime I reboot I have to set my wireless card to a static IP, then back to DHCP and release and renew the IP before I can get net access.
Now it looks like I'm going to have to rebuild as there are other issues like not being able to use the F3 key to retype the last line in a command prompt. And the command promt seems to be a lot slower than before.
I am not impressed one bit,
In refference to: "Windows XP SP2 RC2 2149 Official",
Has anyone tried to slipstream SP2 into the Windows XP Disc?...(the size of it is 264MB though... Probably might not fit on a 700MB CDR)
I slipstreamed it no probs so far with burning.
No worries it will slipstream fine what you have to remember is that while it may be 264mb, it will overwriting many of the older files on the xp disc so in reality the size will increased very little.
This is great news, as it is a much better process during OS installation (for some reason I do not trust "upgrades", but full applications)
