hmmmz, i think performance with ATI Cards will still be like Sh*t in linux, in games like America's army, UT 2004 etc.

Yeah and still a lot of well known bugs exist and they still haven't released any 64-bit driver for AMD64. ATI support for Linux is more and more dissapointing.

It's still a lot better than many companies.

Hm it is not good for bussines to compare with worse companies. To become better you have to look at better companies abd try to be even better.

Yes, I agree on this one :)
But, seeing Creative Labs (which is big soundcard company) with very bad Linux support (outdated, feature incomplete etc.) made me thinking that ATI's support isn't all that bad.

Anyway, what I would like to see first is support for X.org X11R6.7, used by Fedora Core 2.

Well eventually they will have to support X.Org as most of Linux distros will use it. Even Slackware switched to it recently. I just hope ATI realises this sooner then later.

    ATI needs some *BSD drivers.

I don't see Linux driver support going too far unless Linux starts to become a lot more mainstream.

ATI needs to make their driver friggin work with my hardware (ASUS P4T-533 and 9800Pro 512 megger) - X with DRI enabled causes X to eat 99.9% CPU and not start. Disable DRI and everything is hunky dory :(

Eh, I've pretty much given up on DRI, which is mainly the reason why I have no need for Linux. :p

I have no problem with running X.org and ATI Drivers on Gentoo here.

And who needs Creative? We've ALSA ...
