Hello I was going to buy a X1900XTX card soon until i heard rumors of the XTX fan beeing too noisy Is these true as some people are saying around the forums... I have already a wonderfull sound system and i do not want a Graphic card fan ruin that Can someone (or more than one people) that already has one of these installed confirm these
I have one and it is not that loud, my power supply fans are louder than it, and thats even when im playing a game. So im not sure maybe some cards are running hotter than others and have the fan running on higher rpm's
Maybe it's just me but I really don't care how loud the fan is?? When I get this card I will be shocked if it can beat my case fans LOL. I have 5 fans in my case and when they are turned up with my power supply it's like a jet flying in my room. I would guess a lot of us are like this to keep our cases cool???
Once you've had a quiet but powerful computer you'll never go back. I'm quite concerned myself since I'm also thinking of picking one up.
Arctic Cooling X2 SHOULD work (I've read it does) but tis not official. However, zalman ones (like this one here ) are very good and should work with any vid card It all depends on the case cooling... And I pity ur PSU  LOL not to that extreme mate... I hate loud PCs. It's useless and already I find mine too loud (and the loudest component is my HD  ). I'm always at 50 max on load for CPU and 60 for GPU and it's quite quiet Maybe some of us invested in larger more efficent and silent fans?
Silent fans LOL who uses those.... Maybe I should look into those.... That really never crossed my mind I just kept the fans that came with my case. I just never really cared because the fans I use now I can turn down to go to sleep same with my power supply.
Ya well like the new Antec P180... Not only is it silent but since cooling tech has become better, it's much better than the older cases with 50 fans
It look ike the SAME cooler that on the X1800 Xt it aprears so I highly doubt its true probubly just some fanboys with a hair dryier makeing a sattire video I mean I guess it could be true if some how you card was running hotter then normal then it would say in a place thats normal room temp with normal air flow. extreme over clocking what ever ... I mean one guy right out of the box has his at like 800 / 900 mhz of course it going to kick the fan speed up. Also in the video if you notice 3dmark06 is fluid so thier probubly overclocking...
Well Sandok I will work on getting my system silent but I will not care if peer power is making a lot of noise I rather have a fast system than something that's not as good with little noise!
i dotn care about videocard fan sounds nothing can possibly be louder than my thermaltake venus 12 =D but i dont mind noise lol
See g35x you see what I mean!!! Nothing can out beat some of the stuff we have in our cases. I would like to go water cooled but don't know how to do it and don't want to take the risk! But if I ever did that would make it silent.
1.) Water cooling is good, especially when the pump is silent. 2.) that Zalman sink is great, I have one on my X800XL and I can barely hear the fan run. Just get the all copper one, don't chince on the aluminum version. Get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118117
ya, my venus 12 is pretty loud if i crank it all the way up. instead, i keep it around 2000rpms. between my venus 12 and 7 case fans, it can get pretty loud. of course it really doesnt matter, i cant hear it over my speakers. cranked up, i cant hear much at all over my speakers.
