Even before the two previous driver sets have become WHQL certified, nVIDIA has released another set of beta drivers--the 40.72. Since I'm reluctant to run any beta drivers on my computer, I hope nVIDIA and Microsoft will hurry and release some official ones!! :bleh:
These ones are a bit faster on my system ..... UT 2003 is great with no problems..... Waiting for NHL 2003 to see how that looks....should be sweeeeeet
hesitant Dont be hesitant to use nvidia beta drivers.. they are good beta or not.. the only crap drivers I think nvidia has released is the 40.41s. The 40.72 are freakin excellent.. grab em remember that most driver builds are improved versions of WHQL.. if you want faster speed etc are sorta unhappy with what you have.. then upgrade.. your system is hardly going to keel over just cos these drivers dont have a WHQL stamp.
I have a refresh rate problem with the 40.72 version. I can't get higher than 85 Hz. I can select 100 Hz but it won't change! Any solutions ? Thanks
85 HZ on what resolution ?? First of all does your monitor actually support it ?? I have a samsung 750st(17inch) that wont support more than 85 @1024/768 32 bit Have you installed the monitors drivers? The problem with XP and graphics drivers is usually that it wont let you go above 60hz unless you aply a fix or third party tweaker but in your case it must be something else. Once you install your monitor drivers go inside the display settings and check the "only show supported refresh rates" and if you dont see more than the 85 than you monitor dont support more. Note: after installing monitor drivers restart first then go to properties.
No no no! My monitor DOES support 100 Hz @ 1024x768. I have installed the monitor drivers and the new nVidia drivers. I can see 100 Hz in the display settings and when I select it it won't change to this refresh rate (monitor shows me 85 Hz). This only happens with the Detonator 4 drivers I have tried some refresh tools too ... but nothing.
Well, I tried it on my computer, and, lo and behold, I couldn't select anything above 85Hz refresh either. Then I quit QuickRes, and everything worked great. Make sure you don't have another program running that's forcing the refresh.
