You'll have to look at the chips that are on the card... or, as that often won't be possible before you buy it, read reviews about it on the net which generally mention these details.

2.0 ns memory is capable of 1000MHz DDR frequency. And as far as expense... yes it is MUCH more expensive... I do not believe that VisionTek is planning on making a 256MB version with the 2.0ns memory... I am currently interested in this because of the overclocking advantages that this would pose.

if it was gf fx5600 or the gf ti4200, then i'd tell u 2 get the fx! but fx5200 is CR4P! u'd be better off with the Ti4200 in this case.

I have had this 4200 for 4 months now and I would buy this over the 5200 any day. Granted the 5200 does DX9 but the performance from the 4200 is great. I have been able to push the 4200 to almost the 4600 speeds. My friend has pushed his beyond the 4600 speeds. I myself use the Zelmen Heat Pipe and a Y.S. Tech TMD 70mm fan blowing over the Heat Pipe. My video card OCed runs no more then 95F at full load. Not only do I recomend the 4200 but the Heat Pipe as well!! :D

    Just say this:

"Hey buddy~! You've got a GF4 right? This is the next step for it! I'll sell it to you for $180* :D Just for you!"

Chances are they're using a GF4MX and you'll be doing them a big favour :D
Be sure to add "bundles" with it. Like the free S-Video cord, Driver CD and such.

    *Choose your own price :D

I am not sure on my friends (I will ask him when I see him again) but mine are at 290 and 590. I have had the 590 higher but started to run into problems. I use Powerstrip for all my OCing since it is easy to change frequency's with the hotkeys. I will say I was not able to do these clock speeds with the stock cooler. I had to go to the heatpipe in order to get this.

dont bother with a FX5200. I would just wait untill FX5900 prices come down instead and get that.

I would get the Leadtek one, it's a great card and the huge heatsink that covers the card is just sexy!

If I can add my 2 cents worth..... I had the MSI 64 Meg Ti4200 which was clocked faster than most of the 128 Meg cards....it was a sweet card in it's day.....I then switched to a Sapphire Radeon 9500 Pro 128 meg card and I must say it was a nice step up in image quality as well as AA and AF abilities..... when running something like 3DMArk01 the 9500 was faster but not by a lot.....but switch to 3DMark03 and the 9500 Pro more than doubles what the Ti4200 would score.... So I guess if you play older games stick with the Ti4200, but for anything newer the 9500 Pro is a much better choice IMO.....
