I'd like to put out for 6800 series owners our beta release of the zer0point drivers! Drivers are based on the 6697 driver set from nvidia, after extensive testing on the 7124's and the 7120's we found IQ and performance to be best with this set... pr0digaljenius and I are working on these together and we've got together a pretty smashing good set for you all to try out. We're concentrating on IQ without performance loss here in this set, you could consider them Balnced/Quality Currently in the driver set....

    Instruction Set Support:
    SSE
    SSE2
    MMX
    3DNow!

    Tweaks:
    Forcing AA 2x (changeable)
    MipMaps set to trilinear
    3dc compression enabled
    dxtc5 compression enabled
    256 Burst
    Fast Z Occlusion Culliing
    pre-rendering length (extra 2 frames)
    Overclocking enabled
    Performance level Forcing
    Table Fog Emulation
    Texture Sharpening
A number of other tweaks and optimizations

    To be done...
    Fancy Installer
Mobility and older Nvidia card support
bug fixes (thats what the beta testers are for!)

If you 6800 owners out there would like to help us beta test these you can grab them here....
    http://driverheavenuploads.co.uk/poopythej/zer0point066971.exe
    -or, with the isntaller-
    http://impulsedevelopers.net/zer0point/zer0point_0.6697.1.exe

Also you can grab a custom HL2 autoexec.cfg file here which will be included in the installer for the final release with numerous HL2 IQ and performance tweaks
    http://driverheavenuploads.co.uk/poopythej/autoexec.cfg

Let us know how we can get this set to be the best for you all, any ideas, suggestions, rants let us know!

screen goes black for a while when i hit the "advanced" button under the display properties.

    I can't recreate this....

no game/app profiles under IQ settings

Currently it's a global profile that affects everything, as nvidia has app specific optimizations built in as we all know, if app profiles are something a lot of people use, we'll put them back in, however since some of the things there, like tri-linear mip-maps are changeable their currently not available...

Also, any glitches, please list your CPU, Video Card, and what applications/games the issue occurs in

the 'black screen' is like what happens when your monitor changes resolutions or refresh rates. it happens everytime i hit the advanced button. I've never had this problem before, but my friend told me it happened to him when he used the starstorm'd 56.72s a good while back. he runs a ti4200 though.

i looked it up on the net, and apparently it has something to do with coolbits/unlocking the OC feature. but whats odd is that it has never happened to me before.

got to agree with you about the 71. i am using knyz 67 that pthej was kind enough to give to me. so far, in my limited trial, they seem the ticket.
i am not really into 'beta' testing & with my rt arm still dinged up(go to an orthopod mon :( ), doing vey little gaming:( :bleh: . but if you are still testing in a few days & need it, i'll give you what help i can.

ok...we'll probably be "testing" for another week or so, and if you like, we can give the 67's a shot :)

as for you're issue NACHT, I'll look into it.

May I ask what refresh rate you run, and what the max your monitor uses is? I may know a workaround for it ;)

The 6697 set had the best IQ, performance out of the box for a wide range of applications, the 71 series isn't there yet, and the 6697 were the newest compared to those...

Yeah, it's a coolbits bug since the 50.xx series I think. With coolbits enabled, I will get a monitor switch during the initial startup process, and also when going to the geforce tab. Without coolbits enabled, it never happens. Purely down to something that Nvidia themselves have messed up.

sorry but the installer does not recognise my video card. i've been trying to find a 66 or 67 set that works with a couple games i've been having trouble getting to work. the 71.22 and 71.24 dets have seemed to fix these issues, but i figured i would give these a try to help test them.

    specs: athlon xp 3200+, abit nf7-s v2, chaintech 5900xt, 1gb ram

are you just adding 'support' for older cards or are you actually doing some tweaking for them?
my wifes comp has ti 4400 & i am still using omegas 5672a drivers(best for that card so far imo). so if you guys are adding some sort of tweaks for this series of cards please let me know.
